An upcoming exhibition by Saphira & Ventura, in midtown Manhattan, will celebrate 70 years of Yara Tupynambá’s career and her 90th birthday. The gallery will debut the work of this Brazilian artist, who explores a variety of themes, particularly nature, Brazil’s countryside, and her roots in the state of Minas Gerais.
For guests and art lovers, this solo exhibition is an opportunity to glimpse Tupynambá’s long career through the 12 art pieces that will be on display under a theme that explores the Brazilian
Atlantic Forest. Curated by Alcinda Saphira, the exhibition will have its opening reception on Friday, September 1, 2022, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and will run until September 12th, 2022, at Saphira & Ventura Gallery, located on 4 W 43rd St. #416 New York, NY.
“The series chosen to celebrate the 70 years of Yara’s career are records of the Atlantic Forest. The feeling before this series is to be inserted in a colorful palette, elegantly elaborated with detailed realism, characteristic of the artist. A special collection of pure poetry and an appeal to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the environment”, explains the curator.
Tupynambá will be in New York to prize exhibition guests with her honorable presence on the inauguration night.
