Brazil is being introduced to the world directly by those who make tourism happen. This is the focus of the partnership established between Embratur (Brazilian Tourism Institute) and TikTok. The Brazilian agency and the social platform presented an initiative aimed at training small and medium-sized businesses, as well as professionals in the tourism sector, through digital workshops.

Embratur’s president, Marcelo Freixo, emphasized the significance of the partnership due to the importance of TikTok in terms of its reach, size, and its impact on people’s lives. He also highlighted that it presents a great opportunity to give visibility to “those who make tourism happen on the front lines.”

“Tourism in Brazil is made by small and medium-sized entrepreneurs and workers. Therefore, training them and providing access to a tool like TikTok, allowing them to showcase their business and destinations, is a very important opportunity to help those on the front lines, as well as to showcase Brazil in its essence. When I think of tourism, I think of the entrepreneur, as well as the person welcoming tourists at a restaurant, hotel, or tour service. These are the people we want to reach,” said the president of Embratur.

According to Silvia Belluzzo, Director of Business Marketing for SMEs at TikTok for Latin America, the focus of the partnership is to help small businesses boost their operations. “TikTok is a discovery platform. And this is powerful for tourism. The community is extremely engaged in discovering new places, creating itineraries, and learning curiosities about the places they want to visit. Especially for SMEs, TikTok is a place to reach new audiences and break out of their bubble, since our platform is not about who you know or follow, but about the topics and content that spark your interest,” she explained.

Webinars

The first webinar is scheduled for April 3rd. It will present tools and strategies to train micro and small businesses (MSEs) in the sector on how to use the platform as a marketing and digital sales tool, expanding their visibility and economic impact.

Among the topics to be covered are: the diverse and engaged audience, accessible advertising tools, creative and informal content, and opportunities for partnerships with influencers.

Additionally, both companies will provide an e-book with content focused on creating storytelling and using the platform for selling products and services.
