This worldwide-known event gathers millions of people at Copacabana Beach every year.
Rio’s New Year’s Eve, especially at Copacabana Beach, is the biggest one in Brazil. The party is free and worldwide known for its great concentration of people in the sand, boardwalk and streets, and for its famous and stunning fireworks.
Entertainment is guaranteed with concerts by national and international singers, not to mention the presentation of several samba schools. Three stages are set up on the beach, where artists from different music genres perform. Those who can’t get close to the stages can follow the concerts through screens arranged along the shore.
If you are not into big crowds, you can enjoy the New Year’s party in one of the many clubs in the city. There is a great diversity of parties happening in different neighborhoods. Although you have to pay to get in, these parties have private security and offer open bar and food.
