That Rio is a showcase for the world is something everyone knows. What continues to grow is the number of publications highlighting the Marvelous City as one of the top destinations to visit in 2025. The most recent is the British magazine Wanderlust, which has specialized in sharing unique experiences and destinations since 1993. Rio was featured in the series “The Good to Go List 2025,” alongside 24 other cities.
The highlight of the publication is the selection of Rio as the UNESCO World Book Capital. Among the attractions are the Bienal Internacional do Livro (International Book Fair), the Brazilian Academy of Letters, and the National Library, as well as the iconic Royal Portuguese Reading Room.
The year 2024 set a record for international tourism in Rio de Janeiro, which welcomed 1.5 million foreign tourists—the highest number since 2018. This total represents an increase of 320,000 tourists compared to 2023, a 26.9% growth year-over-year.
