Brazil’s top cosmetics company, Natura Cosmeticos S.A., whose competitive differential is the development of products based on the biodiversity of the Brazilian flora, opened its first store in the U.S. The store is located in New York City, in the heart of Nolita neighborhood.
In addition to all cosmetics products, the store features charming raffia bags handwoven in Bahia and a great selection of books about Brazil.
To immerse the public into their culture, Natura managers are planning a series of interesting in-store events. First up was Natutama – The Amazon Beyond the Rainforest. An exhibition of photographs of Eliseu Cavalcante’s trip to Amazon, where all the ingredients for Natura’s products come from, as a result of partnerships with local communities.
Natura is Brazil’s number one cosmetics manufacturer, and the country’s leader in the direct sales sector. Based in Cajamar, São Paulo, the company employs around 7000 staff in seven countries: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Colombia and France.
Sustainable development has been the company’s guiding principle since it was founded in 1969.
A passion for customer relations led the company to adopt direct sales as its main commercial strategy. At present, more than 1,421,000 consultants – including 1,175,000 in Brazil and around 246,000 abroad – promote the company’s values and products to consumers.
