Following the same exploratory tour, the Carnival Experience, promoted by Grande Rio Samba School, opens the workshop for visitors who want to know a little more about the creation and production of a parade, long before it takes place at Marquês de Sapucaí Sambadrome (next year it will take place from February 09th to February 17th 2024).

This unique experience shows how the allegories and costumes of the school are produced, the carnivalesque designs, how the costumes and the assembly of the big cars are done by hand, and shows up close the hard work of the professionals involved in the production of a parade; as well as presenting the workshop of Pimpolhos da Grande Rio, a youth school held by Grande Rio that began in 2002, that, more than an important social project, helps to develop the Carnival lovers of tomorrow.

The initiative, promoted by Camila Soares and Akiva Potasman, presents the samba history of its own school, as well as putting visitors in a Carnival atmosphere, with costumes available for wearing and taking photographs, and welcome caipirinhas. The Carnival Experience project also has tours that include visits to the the school grounds, in Duque de Caxias, festivals, feijoadas, samba and percussion rehearsals and workshops, as well as a tour through the Samba birthplace, known as ‘Little Africa’, in Gamboa.
