The Postgraduate Student Agreement Programme (PEC-PG) has started receiving applications from developing country students for a full PhD scholarship in Brazilian public or private higher education institutions.
According to the tender notice published by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), up to one hundred scholarships will be awarded. Applications must be made by 15 September on the Capes website.
To participate in the selection process, candidates must: be a citizen of a developing country with which Brazil has educational, cultural or scientific & technological cooperation agreement; not be a Brazilian citizen; have an undergraduate or master’s degree but not a PhD degree.
Students must also present a letter of acceptance issued by the institution of interest, prove proficiency in the Portuguese language and have an updated Portuguese CV at the CNPq’s Lattes Platform.
Those selected will receive a PhD scholarship, including fulltrip airfare to and from the capital of their country of origin or residence. The results of the selection are scheduled to be published on November 15, and academic activities begin in February 2018.
