In a historic victory, Republican Donald Trump surpassed the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the US Presidency and return to the White House.

On the morning of November 6, before the vote count had even finished nationwide, Trump had already won in crucial states – Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina and Wisconsin, securing the necessary number of Electoral College votes.

He spoke to supporters in Florida promising to seal America’s borders and “heal” the country.

Trump said it was an extraordinary honor to receive from the American people the powerful mandate that made him the 47th president of the United States, after having previously been the 45th.

Democratic candidate Kamala Harris had secured only 223 seats at the time of publication of this report (Wednesday afternoon)

There were still 4 states to be confirmed, with a total of 36 seats in the Electoral College. Of these, Trump leads by a good margin in 3 of them, which would guarantee the Republican another 32 seats in the Electoral College.

Republicans won the Senate and can also secure a majority in the House of Representatives (at the time of publication of this article, Republicans were leading the count for the House with 200 of the 218 seats needed to obtain a majority), giving Trump a comfortable lead for approval of his projects such as the construction of the wall in the United States border with Mexico and secure the border, he number promise in this campaign.
