The United States Embassy announced that applications for the 17th annual Youth Ambassadors Program, a three-week exchange program in the United States, are open until August 12. Public high school students, between 15-18 years old, with a profile of leadership and volunteer service in their communities, out-standing academic performance, and good English language skills, are invited to apply for the program.
Since 2003, 572 Brazilians have already benefitted from the program. The U.S. Embassy’s partners in this initiative are the National Council of State Secretaries of Education (CONSED), State Secretariats of Education, U.S.-Brazil Binational Centers, as well as the U.S. companies FedEx, MSD, and IBM. All for Education Movement and Canal Futura also support this initiative. Currently, the Youth Ambassadors Program is implemented in all Latin-American countries and also includes a reverse program for U.S. high school students to travel abroad.
